Algae so aircraft fuel

Professor Feargal Brennan and a team of researchers from the University of Cranfield, United Kingdom examine the use of certain types of algae to be processed into fuel for aircraft. If successful, the meaning of biofuels are very friendly environment would be applied not only in the car or motor but also on the plane.

Low carbon content makes biofuel superior than regular fuel. A flight with biofuels is expected to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide gas as much as at least 80 per cent. And in terms of cost, fuel is very economical.

Algae is chosen because it is considered not intersect directly with the capacity of the source of human food, as well as not depriving agricultural land.

Brennan's own sure that biofuel made of algae can be mass-produced and commercially in four years. Algae has advantages in terms of availability. In one year alone, panenannya can be 30 to 50 times the harvest.
